It's New Year's Day -- a new year, a new blog ...
It's time to feel enthusiasm for changes, to feel eager and excited. It's time to think of goals to aspire toward and personal habits that need a little tweaking or developing. January 1st is and arbitrary date, it's true, but it is a nice tradition to get excited about.
So I've been sorting, organizing and making lists. I've been writing numbers in columns, thinking about budgeting plans. Going through the box called "year o bills" and getting rid of everything over a year old. Going through files labeled 'insurance' and 'annuities' and other important stuff so they can be organized and simplified.
This year I finally sat down and did paperwork I've long thought of doing. I wrote up a list of aforementioned insurances and annuities along with bank accounts & everything else I could think of. I added policy numbers and telephone numbers as well as contact people. And info about where bills, friends addresses and etc could be found in the house.
It took awhile, but was a nice list when done. I saw a slight problem with one insurance policy that I hadn't noticed and it was good to see the annuities etc written out clearly.
I gave a copy to my son so he will have clear ideas about what to do should he need to. I think it would be incredibly cruel of me to die and leave my only child to have to struggle to deal with, on top of everything else, my lack of organizations skills.
