"very interesting ..., but stupid"

Am watching The Best of Laugh-In on pbs.  What an amazing group of people -- and guests.  It's still pretty cutting edge -- and still makes me laugh.  More than a bit frustrating that the world is still so backwards and stupid and not as enlightened as I would have thought it would be by now.  Sad.
I guess many things have changed for the better.  It's hard to remember just how stifled and up-tight people were 40 years ago.  I just thought American society would be better.

I was with a group of women last week and was horrified to hear them talking about gay people and cross dressers.  The giggling was bad enough (like 9 year olds) but their disgust and belief that people different than they really are (different) and shouldn't have the civil rights they themselves expect is too disgusting.

I know they are taught those kinds of beliefs in their churches and want to believe what their religious leaders and their brainwashed friends say, but it's still disgusting that they ridicule other people.

OTOH, not disgusting was the pot roast I made for dinner yesterday.  I pretty much followed this recipe.  The meat was simply best.  We had it for dinner again tonight.  yummy in the tummy

Nothing exciting.  Nothing on tv and I've watched all the Netflix movies and sent them back.  I'm in the mood to watch tv, I don't know why 'cause I don't like any of the shows.   I need to type up some notes from our grade level "Articulation" meeting and I need to write a letter of recommendation and someone really ought to vacuum around here.  But I would prefer to watch some television shows.  (sigh)

  1. It amazes me how people can be so easily brainwashed by friends, family and church. I have little tolerance for narrow minded people. And I am still surprised that we have not evolved to a more accepting society as a whole.

    Love the comic.
